This convening is being brought together in collaboration with WWF, FAO, the Sustainable Fibre Alliance, Alliance of Bioversity International & CIAT, BirdLife International, International Land Coalition, ILRI, IUCN, RSPB, Ambition Loop, the 4 per 1000 Initiative, Rewilding Alliance, CA4SH, CIFOR-ICRAF, the Riyadh Action Agenda, YPARD, American Prairie, The Nature Conservancy, and the Global Alliance of Rangelands and Pastoralists.
Taking place during UNCCD COP17 and the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP 2026), it will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders — from policy, science, civil society, pastoralist communities, and the private sector — to elevate the role of grasslands, savannahs, and rangelands and help shape a shared, forward-looking agenda for action.
The convening will include:
- A field visit and high-level dinner in Mongolia’s rangelands
- A full-day conference focused on solutions, policy pathways, and collaboration
At a time when these ecosystems remain under-recognized despite their critical role in food systems, climate resilience, biodiversity, and livelihoods, this is an opportunity to build momentum together toward coordinated and nature-positive action.
