To mark the 2026 International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists and its September theme, “Benefits to society,” PREZODE’s webinar will explore how sustainable rangeland and livestock systems deliver interconnected benefits: supporting pastoral livelihoods and food security, maintaining biodiversity and ecosystem services, strengthening climate resilience, and helping prevent zoonotic disease emergence at source.
Speakers will include:
- Dr Igshaan Samuels, rangeland ecology and pastoralism researcher at the
Agricultural Research Council of South Africa and IYRP Global Coordinating
Group co-chair.
- Munguntsetseg Tsend-Ayush, AVSF project manager specialising in herder
organisations, One Health and climate resilience;
- Chris Bartels, AVSF Country Representative in Mongolia and animal-health
specialist.
- Dr. Siobhan Mor, MD, jointly appointed Principal Scientist at ILRI and
Professor of One Health at the University of Liverpool.
