Rangelands: Recognize. Respect. Restore

Greetings from the Dryland Ecology Lab, Department of Geography, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), and the Pakistan Dryland Knowledge Network (PDKN).

We are delighted to share that our Dryland Ecology Lab is organising an international webinar in observance of World Desertification and Drought Day 2026 under the global theme:

"Rangelands: Recognize. Respect. Restore"

The webinar will be held on 17 June 2026 at 2:00 PM (Pakistan Standard Time) and will bring together leading international experts to discuss rangeland restoration, dryland resilience, ecosystem management, remote sensing applications, and the integration of science and local knowledge for sustainable land management.

The event strongly aligns with the objectives of the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP) by promoting awareness of the ecological, social, and economic importance of rangelands and supporting dialogue on sustainable pastoral livelihoods and landscape restoration.

We are sharing the webinar flyer for wider dissemination through the IYRP platform and its associated networks. We would be grateful for your support in promoting this initiative to help us reach a broader global audience and strengthen collaboration among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers working on rangeland conservation and restoration.

The official webinar flyer is attached for your kind reference and circulation.
