𝐂𝐈𝐋𝐒𝐒 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐎𝐏𝟏𝟕: 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐥

The Permanent Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS) will take part in the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), to be held from 17 to 27 August 2027 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, under the theme "Restore the Land. Restore Hope."

CILSS will bring a clear ambition to the event: to share its expertise and strengthen partnerships in favor of ecosystem restoration and the sustainable transformation of pastoral and agropastoral systems in West Africa and the Sahel.

In collaboration with its partners, including the World Bank and the Pan-African Agency of the Great Green Wall (PAGGW), CILSS will organize two strategically significant side events:

CILSS's agenda at COP17 also includes high-level meetings on sustainable development, co-hosting of several side events, and a documentary exhibition showcasing its services and achievements.
