EXHIBITION: ETHNOGRAPHIES OF PASTORALISM (FCSH NOVA. Lisbon. 17 November – 17 December 2026)
Opening event: 17 November, 5:00 PM
This exhibition aims to highlight the significance of pastoralism in Portugal, exploring interconnected issues such as identity and heritage, climate change, and multispecies relationships. Images and accounts gathered through ethnographic fieldwork across different research projects illustrate the importance of agro-silvopastoral systems and the sustainability of ecological practices. They also give voice to the memories, experiences, and worldviews of shepherds — men, women, and families.
