On behalf of European Commission Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural development, we are pleased to invite you to our upcoming lunchtime debate on “Pastoral Schools and Generational Renewal in Europe”, taking place on WEDN 3rd June 2026 from 12:20 to 14:00 (CET) in Rue de la Loi 102 Auditorium (DG AGRI) and online via Webex.
This event will bring together EU policymakers, local authorities, rural stakeholders and practitioners to discuss how pastoral schools can support generational renewal in extensive livestock farming, while contributing to biodiversity conservation, climate adaptation, fire prevention and sustainable rural development.
Through a European overview and concrete case studies from France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy, participants will exchange experiences on innovative training models that combine vocational education, territorial development, and environmental stewardship.
