About
Pastoralists are mobile and semi-mobile resource stewards who manage livestock across more than half of the Earth’s land surface.
The Perspectives on Pastoralism Film Festival presents the culture and experiences of pastoralists from mobile herding and rangeland communities across six continents. This event is being held to mark the UN International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists 2026.
Join us for free screenings of ethnographic and documentary film shorts throughout the day on Saturday, October 3. Please see the link to the full festival program below.

University of Winnipeg Anthropology Museum
The Anthropology Museum at the University of Winnipeg, founded in the 1960s, has long served as a resource for teaching, research, and the stewardship of cultural heritage. Today, it is reimagining its role as a living, responsive, and inclusive institution that supports hands-on learning, ethical museological practice, and reciprocal community relationships. Grounded in the values of public anthropology, we support the mobilization of anthropological knowledge to address pressing social issues and embraces diverse forms of representation—from digital exhibitions to oral histories to embodied, multisensory storytelling.
