HEKS/EPER Land Forum 2026: Powered by variability: Pastoralism in dynamic drylands (ONLINE)
Pastoralism is uniquely adapted to environments where rainfall, vegetation, water and access to resources vary across space and time. Yet climate change, land-use and natural resources pressures and institutional constraints are reshaping these dynamics. Pastoralists are largely absent in policy dialogue and decision making and services delivered to arid- and semi-arid lands remain scarce. During the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists, the HEKS/EPER Land Forum 2026 organised in collaboration with Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Suisse (VSF-Suisse), explores how pastoralists work with variability and how climate adaptation can strengthen rather than constrain these strategies.
To include speakers and welcome participants from all time-zones, we will hold the Land Forum 2026 online in two 2-hour sessions. It will mainly take place in English with interpretation in French, Spanish and Portuguese.
