Protection and Use of Global Grazing Systems (webinar)

As the UN launches the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists 2026, attention is turning to one of the world’s most underestimated systems: global grazing lands. Grasslands cover vast parts of the planet and are fundamental to food security, biodiversity, climate resilience and geopolitical stability—especially in times of growing ecological and social pressure.

On 27 January 2026 at 18:00 CET, a new study “Protection and Use of Global Grazing Systems”, commissioned by European Member of Parliament Martin Haeusling, will be presented. It explores why sustainable pastoralism and rangeland governance are central to ecological balance, resilient food systems and global security.
