To mark the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists, SOMMET DE L'ÉLEVAGE 2026 will shine a spotlight on pastoralism through an extensive programme of dedicated events.
International conferences, exhibitors from around the world and official delegations representing pastoral communities from five continents—including Mongolia, Colombia, Sudan, Côte d'Ivoire and Spain—will come together to showcase their expertise and share best practices.
The objective is simple: to demonstrate the key role pastoralism plays in the sustainable management of natural resources.
The 35th edition of the Sommet de l'Élevage (Livestock Summit) will take place from October 6 to 9, 2026, at the Grande Halle d'Auvergne in Clermont-Ferrand, France.Known as the world's leading sustainable livestock show, the 2026 event coincides with the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists and features the national Limousine cattle breed competition.
