Symposium marking arrival of Belgian Herders March in Brussels

Veterinarians Without Borders Belgium (VSFB) is holding a symposium on 13 October 2026 in the Ter Kameren Forest, Brussels, to coincide with the arrival of the Belgian Herders’ March. From 28 Sept to 13 Oct 2026, Belgian shepherds Toon & Johan Schouteden will lead a flock of 350 sheep from the Belgian-Dutch border to Brussels, aiming to raise awareness of the importance of rangelands, pastoralism and extensive livestock farming. They will be joined by Loupa Pius, a herder from Karamoja (Uganda), who will draw parallels between the Belgian story and the reality faced by herders worldwide.
