The Texas Section Society for Range Management annual meeting this year will feature a ranch tour on a progressively managed ranch and we will discuss the use of multiple technologies in ranch management including virtual fence, water monitoring tech, etc. We will also have a rancher discussion panel made up of multi generational ranchers that will discuss modern challenges in range management, and the difficulties of keeping viable ranches together in an area being heavily fragmented by renewable energy, data centers and a massive generational landowner shift. We will feature current research, a local vendor trade show, student competitions and poster presentations, and talks on succession planning or more specifically, how do we keep the rangelands, rangelands and not energy or data infrastructure. Throughout the week we will be preaching IYRP as much as possible. This will be the culmination of our Sections efforts throughout the year.
