We are happy to announce the third edition of Wool March 2025, December 20, 2025, and hosted by TextielMuseum, Goirkestraat 96, 5046 GN, Tilburg. We gather in the courtyard at 12:00. We'll be following Kempische Heideschapen sheep and shepherd Bart van Ekkendonk through Tilburg in a beautiful walk like no other. As one woolly herd, we walk to promote shepherding, sheep, mobile grazing and the wool that comes from this incredible practice.
Wool March celebrates rural and urban mobile grazing by local sheep to protect dikes, parks, dunes, heath and pasture lands. When sheep walk over land, they do many things, such as maintaining the biodiversity of soils and keeping invasive plant species under control. Unfortunately, many shepherds and their sheep in The Netherlands and around the globe are facing challenges such as climate change, low prices and/or incineration of their wool, and most importantly lack of awareness for what they do. By walking with local sheep in a public walk, Wool March brings attention to this important regenerative practice, and the wool that comes from it.
So come and join us, one and all and celebrate our woolly community! For more information about the program, and to register for the walk, please use the following link: https://www.woolmarch.com/lets-walk/wool-march-tilburg-2025
