Pronatura Noreste y su socio en conservación, American Bird Conservancy, presentan el “Reporte del Estado de los Pastizales del Desierto Chihuahuense”. En este documento se registra que, para el 2025, los pastizales, por lo menos en los Valles Centrales del estado de Chihuahua, desaparecerán si permanece el ritmo de pérdida actual: alrededor del 6 % anual por el cambio de uso de suelo para la actividad agrícola intensiva.

La reserva Cuatro Gorriones, propiedad de Pronatura Noreste y ubicada en el municipio de Saltillo, Coahuila, es de especial importancia para la conservación debido a la diversidad biológica, incluidos endemismos, que encuentra hogar en sus amplias colinas y pastizales cortos.
