Declarations (Pastoralists)
Young pastoralists from Africa, the Arctic, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas gathered in April 2026 in Madrid, Spain. This Declaration builds on policy briefs of various regional and global meetings of pastoralist youth and the brief of the IYRP Working Group on Pastoralist Youth.
Pastoralist and agropastoralist women who gathered in Kathmandu, Nepal, on 26–29 May 2026 from throughout the world declared that pastoralism is not of the past but a solution for the future and that pastoralist women are at the heart of the solution.
